The Dow Jones industrials rose 111.32 points, or 1.09 percent, to close at 10,296.85. The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 14.13 points, or 1.30 percent, to 1,103.31. NASDAQ composite index rose 18.86, or 0.87 percent, to 2190.06.
